Mamma Mia!

One word...FUN!
Have you seen this movie? There is a part of everyone that loves to hear ABBA...you can't help yourself...I know you're out there you closet ABBA fans. It takes me back to the days of singing along with ABBA Gold, Rachael singing harmony. That was more than a few years ago.
You've got to watch this movie! I hear the Broadway show is great also. The kids thought I was crazy singing along with all the songs. I just looked it up and it isn't released in the US on DVD until Dec 16th. I guess we have early, um, screenings over here in China.
I'm putting the movie trailer up so you can get a taste of all the FUN. Just had a thought...TracyP, you got to watch this movie...it'll make you feel better to sing your heart out to ABBA, like we used to at dances when they played "Dancing Queen." It'll make everyone feel better to stand in your living room, hairbrush in hand, donned in pajamas, singing your sweet mama heart out! I challenge you all. Now get to it. Well... once Dec 16th comes.
Just an FYI, this may be the week of movies. I have several good ones in mind.

A Person's a Person, No Matter How Small

A lot of posts for one day, but I'm behind. Bliss has a new favorite...Horton Hears a Who. Blasen and I are big fans of Jim Carrey and Steve Carrell and Dr. Seuss, so we thought we couldn't lose. It is actually a very cute movie. We recommend it for kids and adults alike. And there's a good lesson to be learned.

Tristan and Isolde

This is the movie of the week and man do I pick some sad movies. I wasn't entirely familiar with the story of Tristan and Isolde. I've heard the name and remember saying that I wanted to see it and that it was an opera from back in the day. So, I found it on YouTube and watched it in segments. I really liked it, but it's sad. There's actually enough fighting and blood-shed that you might even convince your husband to watch it with you.
I don't want to give anything away, so I'm not going to try to summarize anything. Here's the trailer instead.

Have you ever watched something or read something that makes you hurt on the inside?
I wasn't sure of the whole story of Jane Austen...so I decided to watch this movie. I'm a Jane Austen fan, as well as a Anne Hathaway fan, so I thought I this would make a great movie of the week. It is a good movie, but I feel real sorry for Jane Austen. I did not realize the reason behind her being an "old maid". She had her chance...she even had affection for him, not some arranged, "I will learn to love you" kind of thing. Ms. Austen passed it up for some reasons which I feel were temporary. Anyway, I won't spoil it for those of you who would like to see it.
Now I see the motivation for her stories. Regardless of what she chose for her life she chose something different for her characters. All in all, she's like any other girl...always sees the happy ending.
By-the-way...I'm 29 and I like to think Jane is right.
